Name Game...greenspun.com : LUSENET : MR2 : One Thread |
Okay, I was showing my fanfiction off to a pal of mine, and I got yelled at for ripping names. Even though I openly state that I ripped names from others and gave them credit, I am still in danger of getting sued or something, so for the sequel to "Dying Days" the naming system will be different. I'd like to state here and now that I am either making names up, using the names of cities in Russia, or using periodic Russian names. I'd like to thank the online Russian Names Dictionary for existing so I could use names from them. For those who want a preview to the next story I'll be writing, keep readin'...
Mau'Cha'Kai beccomes Makhshei (m) -- Russian name meaning "shaken." (Note from Justice: No, I didn't rip Mau'Cha'Kai from anywhere, I did make it up, but it is a pain in the ass to type each time he pops up, so I'm changing it. So there.)
Winterikana is a name I got by mixing two names together (Wintertime and Meta-Rikana); he's the descendant of Wintertime. I hope the makers of Bastard!! don't sue me for using part of the name Meta-Rikana...
Thundebar is a name I sorta made up as well.
Laonas, to the best of my knowledge, got pulled out of my head.
Labko (m) -- Russian name meaning "white"
Tarasii (m) -- Russian name meaning "to disturb."
Niasvizh -- Russian city founded prior to or during the 16-17th centuries
Tassilo (m) -- Russian name, var of Tashilo
Tasson (m) -- Russian name, var of Tasho
Lomonosoi (m) -- Russian name meaning "nose-breaker."
Faisha is another name I made up.
Rakoma -- Russian citty founded in the 11th century
Edessii (m) -- Russian name meaning "happiness or shame."
Ust'-Tsil'ma -- Russian city founded prior to 1598.
Barek (m) -- Russian name meaning "noble."
If you have a TOTALLY MADE UP name you'd like me to use, post it and I'll see if I like it. Sorry, but I already have a list of characters for the next three stories, all I need is names. If the name you suggest doesn't fit any of my currently-nameless characters, it won't get used. Sorry.
