Can anyone tell me where I can see a complete list of releases by REM, including 12", 7", cassette and CD singles, albums, promos and special releases, preferably organised by year?

Check out this website under 'tracks'. It is an alphabetical list of every version of every rem track released. It doesn't contain fan club singles though.

Another good place to look is at www.allmusic.com, and look up R.E.M. This site has info and releases for just about every band ever. They usually have a pretty comprehensive discography too, including bootlegs and multiple versions of singles.
