I just thought I would mention that since I have posted the fact that I would like to work from home eventually (watch what this post does) I have been inundated with all kinds of junk email regarding this topic.

I would like to hear comments about that....does it mean someone is on this forum who is gathering this information? Or how does it work?

Some one could be gathering by hand, but I doubt it. It would take too much time. However a good programmer could write a computer program that would go out and search databases on the internet and gather info. A simple program really, a serach engine.

Searching all the forums on Lusenet for particular words or phrases could be done very quickly. The federal goverment has been doing this for years looking at email and such for information on terrorism, drug trafficing, etc.

Rich, I knew that about the feds, but thought the program was more sophisticated so not used by everyone else.

I didn't really think anyone on this forum would be doing such a dastardly deed, so glad to hear that it's probably ONLY a machine...
