If you go to yahoo.com you can download their pager/messenger thingie. It's a little bit similar to ICQ but you can voice-chat etc. It's looking impressive so far. Try it and see if you prefer it to firetalk.

I've just downloaded 'Messenger', and sent a note to you requesting your approval to add you to my "Friends" list.

At first sight I agree with you that it looks really good and possibly ideal for interactive match-day 'chat'. I guess every user needs to establish a Yahoo ID, which is not great shakes. I've found Yahoo e-mail to be good, and as I understand it you can access e-mail via Messenger.

It would be good if we could get a few other bbs regulars on board to try it out, but I do worry that these things will dilute the focus/participation on this particular BBS site, which is truly excellent. I would hate to damage it through dilution.

Some other views would be really welcome.
