Allan was the family name of his foster parents, He married his cousin Virginia Eliza Clemm on May 16, 1836. Virginia was born on August 15, 1822 and died at the age of 25 on Jan 30, 1847. Edgar is buried at the Westminster Burying Ground in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife, Virginia and his Aunt Maria Clemm.
