My son's new chicks have red stringy (almost looks like long thin red worms) in their droppings. Is this serious what should we do? These are our first mail order chicks and this just began! Help!!

This sounds like Coccidiosis. You need to go to the farm supply and get medicine to put into their water. How long has he had them. If it is only for a very short time I would contact the company I purchased them from. If they were born on your place you need to treat the adult birds too.Little Bit Farm

Now you're gonna have to disinfect the feeders and waterers. We usually wash them good with a bleach solution and rinse really good. Make sure you keep the pen as clean as possible. If not all of your birds are showing signs of being sick, I would seperate the ones that are, just to play it safe.
