We invite you to join us in a retreat for a small group of women to gather together to deepen our creative explorations with the Polaroid Transfer process. We designed this retreat primarily for women with previous experience with Polaroid transfers. We intend to hold the space for sacred soul time, allowing for the gestation of new projects, planned or yet unknown, to develop and unfold within a spectacular retreat setting and in an environment of:

As artists and photographers we often work alone or solo. In this setting we offer an opportunity for creative support and community to emerge among the women attending. Allowing space for our artistic, emotional and intuitive worlds to cross pollinate, co-create and inspire ourselves and each other, choices can be made to work with the following areas: studio time & demonstrations of creative techniques including:

Tuition including room and board is $1200 + a $150 materials fee. Class size is limited to 12. To register, send a $300 deposit to Kathleen Carr, PO Box 723, Graton, CA 95444 with your name, address, phone and email to hold your space. The balance is due by April 6th, 2000. If you haven't studied with Kathleen or Cynthia, please send a bio and 12-15 slide copies or color copies of your work with your registration (they will be returned). Additional information will be sent with your confirmation letter.

Kathleen T. Carr, a professional and fine art photographer, teacher and author, views photography as a mirror for inner and outer growth. A Creative Uses Consultant for Polaroid, her work has been exhibited widely and has appeared in numerous books and periodicals, including her recent book, "Polaroid Transfers: A Complete Visual Guide for Creating Image and Emulsion Transfers" (Amphoto Books). Cynthia Johnson-Bianchetta has a twenty year background in photography. Her interest is in the intuitive aspect of the art form, exploring a blending of artistic mediums along with personal process and spiritual practice. She is a Creative Uses Consultant for Polaroid, a trustee of the Center for Photographic Arts, former director of The Weston Photographic Gallery and assistant director of the Museum of Photographic Arts. Cynthia makes her home and studio in Big Sur, and teaches for Esalen Institute and the Taos Institute of Arts.
