Greek I guess as so many civilized things are from the Greek. However it seems to me that as a nation we have adopted many lines of thought not associated with he Greek civilization. The ones that work seem to be compatible with the philosophy of the ancient Greeks.

The old Celtic tribes becase of their facinating mythology, the high stature given to their women, their art, and their oral traditions. The ancient matriarchal Irish people are very interesting to me, even though that's going really far back. It seems like a nice cozy thing to have a tribe, and a matriarchal tribe makes sense, takes care of the problems of last names and illegitimacy.

The Inca. They were some pretty mean motherf*ckers! Seriously, the depth of culture and symbolism, the incredible level of environmental adaptation (they had thousands of varieties of potatoes to grow in specific types of soil/climate!), and the incredible technological advancements (specifically stonework and irrigation) made them a very impressive power for so long as they could maintain that power.
