Got this old apricot tree that gives me tasty fruit every other year. I was wondering, seems the fruit always have brown scabs on the skin. The inside is great. Any ideas how to get rid of the skin problem? Nursery has been no help.Thanks.....Kirk

I usually don't guess at such answers, but aren't the scabs caused by tiny insect stings or bites? I'll learn with you one this one when someone with knowledge answers.

Kirk to get the pretty fruit that is in the stores, you have to pick before they are ripe and then let them sit in a semi going 70 miles an hour for several days, while the other fruits that are in that semi help to make them ripen. And viola you have tasteless apricots like we get here in Texas. Or, you can use those nettings they sell to keep out tiny insects, if it touches the fruit it will cause a bruise as the fruit ripens. There are also those apples you can hang in your trees with that sap-sticky stuff painted on them, my mom used croquet balls. I envy you with fresh apricots, spots and all. Vicki
