A Brief History of the Coronation Stone

----------------------------------------------------------------------

IRELAND

" The Chronicles of Scotland , Hector Boece (translated into Scottish by John Bellenden, 1531) tells us -- Gathelus, the ancestor of the Scots who came to Egypt when "in this tyme rang [reigned] in Egypt Pharo ye scurge of ye pepill of Israel" was given Scota to wife (Scota was the daughter of a Pharoah). "Lang tyme he landit in ane part of Spayne callit Lusitan" (later called Portugal). After this, he built the city of Brigance and "callit his subdittis [subjects] Scottis in honour and affeccioun of his wyiff." With peace, Gathelus "sittand in his chayr of merbel within his citie."

[By the way, the name Scots is the same as the Hebrew word, Succoth and carries the meaning Wanderers. Scotland means Land of the Wanderers. But we're getting ahead of the story.]

(Gen 49:24 KJV) "But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)"

---------------------------------------------

This stone of Israel is not a reference to Jesus since we all know that Jesus came from the House of Judah which came out of the House of Judah.

Genesis records history long before the kingdom split, long before God delivered His people out of Israel. Israel in this context thus means all the descendants of Jacob/Israel (Genesis 32:28). Jacob was the father of Judah.

Given the context, stone of Israel could very well be Jesus.

Stay in context, Mark H., and stop the prooftexting.

The coronation stone in Westminster Abbey has been examined and is of the old red sandstone formation of Scotland, and has nothing in common with the limestone rocks of Palestine. Thus not only does Scripture, Archaeology, History and Literature (not to mention Common Sense) disprove your theory, but Geology does as well.

Incidentally, Mark, I think your exegesis is right on: the "stone" mentioned is Jesus. Just as the great "stone" uncut by human hands in Daniel's vision is also Jesus.

In Aslan's name,

John,

Jesus never became a mountain.

(Josh 24:27 KJV) "And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this STONE SHALL BE A WITNESS UNTO US; for it hath heard all the words of the LORD which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God."

(Dan 2:35 KJV) "Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and THE STONE THAT SMOTE THE IMAGE BECAME A GREAT MOUNTAIN, AND FILLED THE WHOLE EARTH."

(Gen 31:13 KJV) "I am the God of Bethel, where thou anointedst THE PILLAR, and where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred."

Have you ever heard of another nation that has such a stone or such an enduring Monarchy?

Did you read the website?

Jesus came out of Judah so that this stone in (Gen 49:24 KJV)"(from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)" is not a reference to Jesus Christ. It is a reference to the stone mentioned as a witness.

And IMO it is the same rock which Moses struck...(Exo 17:6 KJV) "Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel."

You think I am wrong re: all this...then lead me to the Great Nation, Great Company of Nations, The enduring Throne of the Lord with the seed of David sitting on it, the stone which became a Great Mountain, the people who are said not to be "my people" but are now known as "sons of the Living God" or Christian.

Where is the appointed place...(2 Sam 7:10 KJV) "Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,"

Plant them where? What other people on earth have done what we have done and colonized the whole earth? Just as God promised. The Kingdom is being built and it will be everlasting and Jesus is promised this throne of David.

"Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Jesus is telling us that this thing he is doing is to be done on earth as it is done in heaven.

For the full story... http://www.uhcg.org/Jacob-pillar.more-on- stone.html

"One of the most significant facts about the Coronation Stone is that no similar rock formation exists in the British Isles. Professor Totten, the eminent professor of Science at Yale University, after making a thorough examination of the Stone made the following statement: "The analysis of the stone shows that there are absolutely no quarries in Scone or Iona where-from a block so constituted could possibly have come, nor yet from Tara". Professor Odlum, a geologist (and Professor of Theology at an Ontario University), also made microscopic examinations of the Coronation Stone, comparing it to similar stone from Scotland (including Iona and the quarries of Ireland) and found them dissimilar.

I am finished with this insipid dialog; shaking the dust from my feet.

"Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him." - Titus 3:10

John,

What is it about the searching for the Kingdom Treasures that does not stimulate?

One thing I am sure about and that is no one has even scratched the surface of the Bible in their search for the hidden treasures of the Kingdom of God.

It is an interesting thing that God said...(Jer 16:15 KJV) "But, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers."

(Jer 16:16 KJV) "Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the LORD, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks."

We know the fishers were to preach salvation "fishers of men".

What is the task of the hunters? Could it be treasure hunters? Discovering the Kingdom?

Isn't it strange that the Stone is the Greatest Treasure in Great Britain?

I do believe the Treasure hunters are correct and this is Jacobs Pillar. This stone was annointed...Jesus was annointed. A symbol of the Rock of Ages.

Don't let it get to you. There is much to learn re: the Kingdom of God.
