The dollar was slightly lower against the yen in Asian trading while Hong Kong shares opened almost 2% lower.

Lets see, how many times has the stock market been going to crash since January 1st? Do you think this week might be the BIG one you've all been hoping for?

To Jim Cooke:Well Jim, maybe you would "get off" on a stock market crash, but frankly it doesn't make my day. I do however love watching the market and trying to figure out which way its going.
-- suzy (suzy@nowhere.com), March 13, 2000.
Hey Jim,I don't think many here want to see the market to crash, or see oil go sky high. But let's face it, both are happening. Y2K related? Who knows. The laywers sure aren't going to tell us.
Just another day in the year 2000 I guess... <:)=
-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), March 13, 2000.
Right - no one wants to see the market crash. That's why there are ALWAYS posts whenever the market is down and NEVER posts when the market is up. There are people who want a market crash for any number of reasons and they post here.
-- Jim Cooke (JJCooke@yahoo.com), March 13, 2000.
How about you Jim? What do you want to see happen? Maybe you would be kind enough to post market "UPS" for us.
-- suzy (suzy@nowhere.com), March 13, 2000.
Suzy:I don't "want" to see anything happen. The markets don't care what I want. They continue to operate on a combination of economics, psychology, and hot air, just as they always have.
I need to invest my money and, right now, the stock market is the only place I can make a decent return. I watch the markets and hope I can see bad things coming before they happen but, from my past history, I probably won't. Every market downturn is not a crash and those who continue this type of breathless posting are not helping anyone.

Joseph P. Kennedy (patriarch of the clan) is said to have completely cashed out of the stock market in the Summer of 1929 when he started getting stock tips from his shoeshine boy. Notice: he got out in the summer, not Fall. "Better two months too early than one month too late." YMMV.
