Do high bitrate Video CDs play in standard DVD Players?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I was wondering if high bitrate Video CDs play in standard DVD Players? Also, what kind of bitrate would it be (ex: 2500, 3000?) Will a VCD authoring program take this kind of MPEG?(A Program like EZ-CD, WinOnCD 3.6, or Video Pack 4) Thanks for any help

Doug

Does that mean you capture at 2900 and encode at 2500 with your Dazzle?

VideoPack 4 creates high rate vcd's in a menu structure also.

My Sony 725D plays high bitrate VCD's (on CDRW)

Adaptec software will decidedly NOT accept high bit rates for Video CD. It is extremely finnicky!

Hope that helps...I just bought the NTI software and am awaiting a response to an inquiry about whether it is good for recording high bitrate VCD.

Take care.
