Are you the strong silent type or a mile-a-minute talker?--Al
-- Al Schroeder (al.schroeder@nashville.com), March 02, 2000
It depends upon the situation. I own and operate my own business so I need to have a "mile-a-minute" kind of quality about me, but I do know when to be the strong silent type. I would say that whenever I am away from clients, I am the strong silent type. Friends and family don't know the mile-a-minute talker side of me, thankfully. And Al, how about adding a wav file to your website to let us hear your voice? Then we can know for ourselves what you sound like!

As the situation requires. I am not compulsive about it. I like to talk - to someone with similar interests. I like to debate - if it can be kept to civil responses. Before retirement, talk and or listen was a great part of my job. I was also able to work at remote locations, alone. I love my private times, with books, art, poetry, scenery and just pure meditation. doug

I'm like you, Al. I'm kind of shy about speaking. I can handle the public speaking that dealing with customers involves. It's all kind of on the impersonal level anyway. But parties are awful for me. My mind goes blank. That's why I'm so grateful for the written word, so that I can let this headful of thoughts ventilate.

I embarrass myself on an almost daily basis by saying things I wish I hadn't. Be glad you don't run off at the mouth...I wish I knew how to stop! ~:)
