The Hungarian and I got a Big Lots fix today. Among the better buys spotted: Dak hams, 1.99; raspberry flavored peaches, 59c. Can't remember the prices, and the stuff is stashed now, but they aso had Wolf brand chili (with/without beans and vegetarian), vegetarian vegetable soup, corned beef, tomato paste, assorted canned tomato products, assorted canned fish (inc. smoked oysters), and the usual other canned, pickled and packaged stuff. Winter wear is on sale for half-price, good buys on Valentine frou-frou and candy. Garden stuff was just being shelved.

Thanks for the information. I also found canned white grapes and canned strawberries in light syrup. I find unusual items that no other store carry's at great prices.

In response to your question on Supermarket price increases, our local Thriftway/Winn Dixie stores have increased all their store brand Fame items by 20 cents, quite a jump I would say. Kroger's salad bar jumped from $2.99 to $3.50, another big jump.
