Y2K trouble charts from TechWeb survey

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

The media may be saying that Y2K was
nothing to lose sleep over, but nearly
30 percent of IT professionals surveyed
by TechWeb/CMP Media indicate their
organizations suffered some Y2Krelated
problems since New Year's Eve. While most
glitches were termed "insignificant," 16%
caused brief service interruptions and 4%
caused significant outages.

Fortunately, most problems were resolved
within an hour. But nearly 25% of the sites
that did encounter Y2K problems say they need
more time to fix everything. And it may take
longer for all problems to be discovered. An
unexpectedly high 10% of sites that were bitten
by the Millennium Bug report trouble with their
supply chain or extranetand 49% say it's too
early to know if customers, suppliers, and
partners also ran into Y2K glitches.
