I recently purchased a Pinnacle MP10 and am having difficulty playing my created VCD's on my set-top DVD/VCD player that I know plays burned VCD's (because I have copied a VCD and played it on my player). When I capture an mpeg file with the MP10, Nero won't even recognize it as a VCD compliant file!!??!?! When I do the capturing, I am selecting VCD. Can anyone help?

Hi,

if you4re using the recorder tool, then you should capture separated streams for video (.m1v) and audio (.mpa od .wav) and create the final mpg-file with the studio-Software. It will multiplex your video and audio stream together -> this file will be accepted from Nero. Perhaps it will give the same result when muxing with the converter tool (never tried). myself i4ve produced many VCDs on this way. If your settop-DVD is capable to play mpegs with higher bitrates (e.g. 1800KBit/s) like my Yamakawa, you4ll get much better quality then with real VCD-bitrate (1123 KBit/s) -> Nero will burn these files too !

I am currently using the Studio MP10 and am having very good results with it. Using the MP10 Recorder I make an .mpg file using the Video CD quality. I then make the Video CD using Adaptec Video CD Creator 4.01. Using an inexpensive CDR Silver/Blue 700mb I can get 70 minutes so far. The Video CD plays without any problems on my Panasonic L-50 Portable however it does not play on the RCA 5510. I have also made some .mpg files using The Studio software and then burned the CD using CD Creator and have not had any problems so far. TR.
