Officials Ask Columbia, Ill., Residents To Conserve Water During Repair WorkSource: St. Louis Post-Dispatch Publication date: Feb 03, 2000
&Residents of Columbia, Ill., have been asked to conserve water today until a defective valve at the Dupo Pump Station can be repaired. A spokeswoman for the city's Public Works Department said water stored in the city's tanks should meet the demand of the community if water is used sparingly.
The order to conserve water will be lifted after the repairs are made and the city's tanks are filled, she said.
The city's water supply comes from the Illinois-American Water Co. in East St. Louis. Publication date: Feb 03, 2000 ) 2000, NewsReal, Inc.
