Sewage backs up, flows into Columbia Slough"A problem with a pump working near the Portland International Airport caused about 25,000 gallons of sewage to spill into the Columbia Slough over the weekend.
The construction company building a new airport light rail station set up the pump to temporarily bypass a section of sewer pipe where construction crews are installing a new storm sewer.
The pump failed Saturday night, causing sewage to back up and overflow into storm drains that lead to the Columbia Slough."
