Now I know that the Central of Georgia had three operating divisions at the time of the Southern takeover. These were of course the Savannah, Macon and Columbus Divisions. I also know that there was at one time a Chattanooga Div. based out of Cedartown that was later made a part of the Columbus Div. although the former Chattanooga Div. Districts did seem to retain some autonomy. I have seen references in an old Official Guide to a Southwest Div. and my question is this, what lines or districts did the Southwest Div. include and into what other division were they transferred to when the Southwest Div. Was done away with. Many thanks, Warren

The Southwestern Division was made up largely of the lines of the Southwestern Railroad of Georgia which ran from Macon, Ga. to Eufala, Ala. with branches to Columbus, Perry, and Ft. Gaines, Ga. and Columbiana, Ala. This railroad was leased by the Central RR & Banking Company of Georgia on August 1, 1869, and the lease was renewed by the Central of Georgia Railway when it was formed in 1895. The CofG eventually purchased the majority of the shares of the Southwestern. The Southwestern Division was dissolved in the early 1930's and its lines were apparently divided between the Macon Division and the Columbus Division.
