EZ CD Creator 4.01 Deluxe problem when create VCD

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

EZ CD Creator 4.01 Deluxe version B either error out and lockup my system as soon as I tried to load the MPEG1 (VCD format) with module vcd.32cr error or it is telling me that the file is not VCD 2.0 compliant ( detail information is telling me that the system clock reference is not acceptable but everything else is fine ). What is the module vcd.32cr error refers to? LT

I don't know if this will help or is the answer but If I remember right I had that same problem. EZ Creator requires that Activemovie is your default movie viewer. Anything else causes problems.

EZ CD Creator Deluxe for creating VCD may have conflicted with MPEG player such as XingMpeg and ATI ALL WONDER CARD. That's what happened to my system.

Thanks guys for the responses. How did you resolve this conflict? I believe MediaPlayer 6.4 is my default player at this time. If i click on the mpeg file, MediaPlayer 6.4 will open up and play it.

Somewhere in Windows there is a setting that makes activemovie the deafault player. I'll have to check and see where I originally found the info. It was either in the Adaptec help files or in the manual.

Thanks again guys. I've found a work around to fix this problem. I've changed the system.ini under the mci section MpegVideo=mciqtz.drv and EZ CD Creator is happy to write the vcd files to disk. Now I have a new problem...sound and video is not in sync...man one problem after another...by the way not only Adaptec EZ CD Creator software is picky about other software around it, their product technical support division does not exist! So if you buy their products...you'll get no support from them.

I know the feeling....I finally got all the components to wrok to gether and create a VCD with a start sequence and menus that even plays on almost all table top DVD players. (the trick to that was using CD-RW disks, Sony doesn't recognize CD-R's) It sounds like your problem is either in the capturing or the encoding..most likely capturing. What device are you using? If it drops too many frames the audio will not be in sync.

I have both an ATI All-In-Wonder 128 32Mb AGP and a Dazzle DVC Internet USB version. Both are doing an excellent job at capture and encode on the fly. It's the processor, video card, and hard disk. They are doing this to me. I finally got it fixed though. Adjusting the hardware acceleration on the system settings and adjust the refresh rate to adapter default. Also i have to reduce the quality setting on the Mpeg1 decoder to adjust to the processor's capability. I was using 100% of the quality encoding and the processor can't handle that (Athlon 600Mhz...guess i'll have to bump it up to the 700Mhz or 750Mhz). Another thing I have to adjust the memory handling in window from letting window to manage to manual settings (This helps a lot). I've tride DVMeg 5.01 encoder on the AVI(avi is excellent) and the result is less than the one ATI and Dazzle produced. However, if you encode it to asf using window media tools 4.1, the result is superb...better than the Mpeg1 and the file size is small(2 hours of video will fit into one cd-r..too bad dvd can't play this format).

Guys, I have a question not an answer. Im using an ATI All in wonder 128 32MB AGP Bus and a EZ CD Creator De Luxe 4.01. I added a line in system.ini MPEGVideo=mciqtz.drv. I converted a movie into an MPEG then open EZ CD Creator it accepted the mpeg file as WB compliant but when i click add an error appered as : "An mpeg player has not been detected. you will need to install an mpeg player such as microsofts active movie to create Video cds" Active movie is my default mpeg player. What will I do? Below is my system .ini. Where am i going to insert the MPEGVideo=mciqtz.drv? Am I going to delete some lines? Sorry I am new in using a computer and don't know this things.. Please help me

[mci] cdaudio=mcicda.drv sequencer=mciseq.drv waveaudio=mciwave.drv avivideo=mciavi.drv videodisc=mcipionr.drv vcr=mcivisca.drv LiveAudioMetafile=mcilau.dll LiveAudioFile=mcilma.dll DvdVidEx=MciCinem.drv DVD MpegVideo=MciCinem.drv DVD DvdVideo=MciCinem.drv DVD ATIMPEGVIDEO=mciatim1.drv ATIVIDEOCD=mciatim1.drv

I tried another thing. I did not alter my system.ini another error appear vcdcr32.

Thanks.
