Orrin Hatch calls conservative Christians "absolutely loony"greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Christian Church : One Thread |
From an MSNBC article today, announcing Senator Orrin Hatch's withdrawal from the presidential race:[Senator Orrin] Hatch, the only Mormon among the presidential contenders, has said anti-Mormon bias hurt him among the voters he was trying hardest to court: Christian conservatives. Thanks, Orrin. Glad to know you think I'm a loony. :P
"Some of these people have an absolutely loony belief that Mormons arent Christian," Hatch said on Friday. "Theres some misapprehensions and some miscomprehension about my faith."

His being a Mormon had nothing to do with me not caring for him as a Presidential candidate. In fact, this is the first I'm hearing he was Mormon. He's just made because Alan Keyes spanked him!!!!

Having read Mormon theology extensively, I absolutely KNOW that Mormon beliefs are anything but Christian. They are cultic, and they teach a Jesus Christ of strange fantasy, never mind their strange one about God. It is a very sad belief system, though the Mormons I have known are very nice persons.

I was flipping channels earlier, and heard the guy on Comedy Central's "Daily Show" talking about Hatch, so I stopped to listen. He mentioned Hatch's sentiments about Christians being against him because he was a Mormon. He then said, "Mrs. Hatch echoed his sentiments ...." ... as did Mrs. Hatch ...
" ... and Mrs. Hatch ...
" ... and Mrs. Hatch ...
" ... and Mrs. Hatch ..."
