Was notified by mail the our Guardian PHCS was cancelled as of 1/1/00. All claims have been rejected and insurance cancelled. This is a large insurance provider, apparently everyone at my husband's business had the same thing happen. They are saying it is Y2K and it is a mistake, but we have to do all the paperwork, track down the providers, refile claims, talk to doctors who are mad they weren't paid. Prescriptions rejected had to pay full price, they say we will get a refund. When, where, how long is this going to take. I am sure we are not alone! Bitten again!!!

---thats OK, none of the pollies give a crap about you, their lights didn't go out, so y2k is a non or minimal event. ---the rest of us extend sympathy, I'm sure, hope you can get it straightened out soon. Sure seems to be quite a few glitches, doesn't it? I'd be really interested in an accurate assessment of how many there are going on in various inedustries, but the code of silence is still in force, and this is the best we can do, anecdotal stories that any number of pollies and lurkers can jump on with sarcastic comments. Bet they are mostly sarcastic in the rest of their lives as well. Who're the real doomers anyway?

One thing about it when these small companies really get hurt and must file bankrupcy, going out of business, in turn putting all these sneering boomers and pollies out of work, the show will not be that funny. When it hits the wallet mockery is not so joyful. I feel sorry for and have compassion for the little guy. He is the one who must pay the price for the biggies. Just like children in a breakup marriage, they get ground up like hamburger and they are not at fault. However I feel that many small businesses will linger as long as they can hold on by a thread, and then they will go under. The Y2K bug will be felt the strongest in the unemployment rolls of this nation in the long run.
