I have a Nikon Coolpix 800. Bought an AC Adapter for use when I am working at the computer. I sure don"t want to hurt this camera. My ? is...Must you take the batteries out of the camera to use the AC Adapter? or just plug in the Adapter?

I hava a Nikon 950 And have used the AC adapter from Nikon with the batteries still in the camera with no problems. Though I'm not sure it is typical that the adapter jack breaks the battery circuit when installed into a device (camera) while making the adapter circuit. Jeff Rys
