Power was also out in northern Indiana from 2:30 A.M. - 6:30 A.M.(Eastern Time)When I called our power company, was told it was a major outage. We were having high winds at the time.

I sat through all the commotion yesterday here in Southern Indiana. We had a couple of brownouts, but no power loss. Makes me think electricity is kinda finicky.

I'm in Berkley right next to Troy. Have not heard anything about the power outage. The wind is pretty bad here. I don't know if that means anything. I will be checking and will post any news.

Raleigh, NC, USA - Power out in my apartment complex from sometime in the night til 9:00 AM this morning (1/4/99). The Carolina Power & Light serviceman was here just prior to service restoration. I did not call CP&L for an explanation, but the weather here is great.

Weather is unusually warm in Troy Michigan area -- some rain yesterday and higher than normal winds today. You should remember Troy is the city that installed stop signs covered with burlap at all major intersections just in case the traffic lights had Y2K problems. Troy taxpayers complained about the waste of money. I live about 10 minutes from Troy, Michigan We lose power a lot around here. Usually trees falling on power lines. Michigan people like to plant trees right under power lines even though they know Detroit Edison will eventually send tree trimmers to slash and burn the trees in their right of way.

I used to live in Troy, close to Somerset mall. Was glad to move outta there. I swear it took 1/2 an hour just to go a couple of miles during rush hour, especially on Big Beaver Road LOL.
