Some interesting Internet performance graphs...greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
I don't know - but it looks as though there's roughly a 10% failure "somewhere" on the 'net. Anyone wish to make (intelligent) comment?

Never was much for charts and graphs myself...my distatse for mathematics, I suppose....but I do know my own website on Tripod has been down since last night. Hope it's a glitch and not a complete washout. Got it totally backed up and all, but it takes a week to conect all the links for images and pages and such.... C'est La Vie' I guess...

I was able to access Tripod's main website.......but not my web site located at Tripod. We had a two hour power outage here in NE Arkansas, in a small town south of me, at MIDNIGHT, but, of course it was probably not Y2K related.....

Lot of servers and routers got pulled down for the weekend because of management panic over Y2K.Most were government routers and sites, but they often carry heavy PTP loads for other services.
Have a Happy New Millennium.

Interesting. SWAG. Some countries/nets blocked to prevent access to our infrastructure during the week end? SWAG. Some country(s) blocking access to protect their own infrastructure? SWAG. Actual network outage somewhere? Interesting... what is up in ISLAMABAD?

Couldn't send email to my friend in Japan this evening. His server hasn't been down for more than a year. So...???

After thinking over night on this, I am inclined to agree that this was people turning off systems over the weekend. Some will have just taken their whole network off line.
