Betty Crocker Cookbook

My wife, an exquisite cook, laments the demise of her BC Cookbook from the early 70's. We still have it, but it has been used to the point of exhaustion, and she has worn the print off nearly every page. I am willing to pay any reasonable price for a BC cookbook from the early 60's to the early 70's, plus shipping, plus any of my great recipes. If need be, I will also throw in a superb lobster bake in Maine, should anyone have one they would consider parting with. This last, of course, requires some travel on your part! Too far away? I'll send you a couple of live lobsters from Maine for your celebration in Arizona or wherever. Honest! I really want to find one of these! Happy New Year, and I also have some cool heirloom tomato seeds to trade Brad the somewhat Unusual!

You could probably find it on e-bay. Just type in betty crocker and they will bring up doz. It is an ongoing auction, but you could get one for a few dollars. Or just type in cookbook, and it will bring up 2000 or more misc. lots of luck

Go to www.bibliofind.com or www.abebooks.com or www.bookfinder.com You can search for all kinds of used books. I have found some favorite lost books and paid for them by check through the mail as most shops are willing to work that wa

Did you know that Betty Crocker has just re-published their original version of the cookbook? I just bought my mother one to replace her original one that is pretty worn. It is a little older than what you were looking for but it is easy to find at most bookstores. I found it at barnes an noble.

I got my original BC cookbook in '66 when I got married and it has too many layers of duct tape to count holding it together..so got the new reprodution book and it pretty much has all the favorites that I can barely read. But still would like the real thing.

Jody & DEE - thanks for your input. We have gotten the reproduction cookbook, and it is great. However, we would still like to get the late 60's or early 70's version. We got a response here, but it was apparently a hoax. I offered postage plus a reasonable price, but the message disappeared. JD - how did you know it was a hoax, and eliminate it? Meanwhile, if anyone knows of one that has been orphaned, I will pay any reasonable price for one in useable condition. Check your mother's or grandmother's cast-offs. I will offer money, seeds, recipes, or excellent advice in return. Brad
