Hubby is flying to florida on sundaygreenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
My hubby is flying to florida on Monday. Besides the latest Last minute FAA fix, any body heard what's up with Air Traffic Control System or Airports/ticketing systems..? His route is from SeaTac, thru St Louis and then to Orlando. Does anybody know if the travel systems get thru sunday ok will the critical paths on the systems and supporting systems have been excersized...?He Wants sunshine and deep sea fishing worse than he is worried about y2k software boo boo's. :( ARGH!!! what about the navigation systems on the boat!?
If you hear issues hitting FLORIDA, MISSOURI, or SEATAC, please POST.
regards, Katherine

I know a lot of people going here and there. I marvel. Best of luck to them. I hope they don't get stuck wherever.

SeaTac? So he's flying military or commercial?Florida water concerns, along with Georgia, and was it Alabama?

Commercial Flight - Delta Airlines.

KatInSeattle:From Missouri: I'm sure that you know that it is hard to find these things out. Were you impressed by the picture of Ross Dam [upper Skagit] spewing out water today showing that it was Y2K compliant? Delta, I was sure it would be Southwest or TWA. Second largest power supplier in the state is in good shape. Don't know about the biggest [supplies St. Louis] but I have no negative information either. Indeed, I have no verifiable negative information about anything in the St. Louis area. Should be okay, outside of the St. Louis traffic load.
Best wishe

KIS:That was my point. I guess that you got it; but I wouldn't worry so much about Missouri or Seatac [I fly in and out of there on a regular basis; traffic is lite compared to DFW, Chicago, Denver, Atlanta, Saint Louis, etc.]. Also, about St Louis, remember the government built another, major, international airport about 30, or so, miles east of St Louis; and it has no airline service at all [they could move half of St Louis traffic there with no problem if things go south]. Now Florida is a different case. Someone else can comment on Florida; I only know about Washington and Missouri.
Best wishes,,,,

Dear Kat. If the hubby is running off to leave you alone I'd give his tush the boot---Find an unmarried lumberjack to keep your woodpile and forget this unthinking jerk,I'll bet you deserve better.

Are there any empty seats on his flight? If it's totally doomed, I'd like to buy my mother-in-law a one-way ticket. Thanks!!!

From: Y2K, ` la Carte by Dancr (pic), near Monterey, CaliforniaMy husband also is going to Miami for a week on Monday, and if that doesn't kill him he's going to do it again a few weeks later.

Last time I checked, there was no deep sea fishing in Orlando. Orlando is essentially in the center of the state, you know. Pretty far from the ocean and deep sea fishing. Maybe he should fly to Jacksonville, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, or the keys.is your hubby y2k compliant? Better check. Start with, "When is our wedding anniversary?" "When is my birthday?" ;-)

his buddy lives in orlando, they will be DRIVING to the ocean!? duh?i WILL give him the boot(or at least banish him to the dog house for a while) if i and my little one end up sitting here without power or water, or i have to shut off the gas myself, or if he ends up stuck somewhere and can't get home. :(
