Auditor to Study Child Support System - (RALEIGH) -- The Legislature's Joint Technology Committee has asked the state auditor to conduct a performance audit of the state's embattled child support collection system. Legislative staff investigator Dennis McCarty says the glitch that has delayed checks to thousands of families was a management error, not a computer problem. He says "the nuts and the bolts of the system worked."
