No. Well, mostly, with the possible exception of Mitsui gold printable CD-R. On an ancient Pioneer DV-505, known for not playing CD-R, I know someone who had the guts, time and money to try all brands/makes he could source and the only one that played, and not even 100%, was the brand I mentioned. At least of the 5 VCDs he made using it, 4 played successfully (80%, right?). I would imagine the same with your Sony.
