Not trying to sound "polly", but arent they just doing the contingency thing like they are supposed to?. TaskForce 2000 makes it sound as though power failures and telco loss is expected, rather this shows companies are simply getting ready in case something goes wrong.

Think about this, if 90% of the people on this forum are preparing it doesnt mean anything is going to happen ,it just means we are preparing in case it does.

I agree, it would be great if ALL businesses, individuals, goon.gov agencies prepared for worst case scenarios. We might have a fighting chance if the systems crash in a big way. I congratulate them for at least trying.

Uh, I'd rather have them prepare and be wrong than not prepare and be wrong.....

But, yes, it is OK to *suspect* that some may be privy to "inside" info. Certainly, I hear 1st to 3rd hand rumours.

Yes, I'm worried about power outages next year. Maybe worse in July/August than January/February.

Don't you find it interesting that they report
that 1/3 of their companies have reported failures
and Cap Gemini reports 82% have already experienced
failures? Quite a difference! :-o
