What great Hallowe'en costumes have you worn or seen? What made them great? Got any good ideas for this year?

Well, you could always affix little boxes of cereal with little plastic knives sticking out of them and go as a "Cereal Killer."Sunshyn

I actually haven't decided what to dress as this year. Our boss (unlike the incredibly...ahem...well...insert choice description here of the director we had before I started working here) is perfectly okay with the idea of our wearing costumes to work. And yet...I don't like to scare the small children (and, more likely, their parents) TOO badly. But you asked about best costumes....The best I've seen was actually for a Beaux Arts (or, as I thought for the longest time, Bozart's) Ball at W&M-- you know, those artsy and clever black-and-white theme affairs. Someone wore a negligee covered with numerous small slips of paper that said things like "Oedipal complex," "id," "superego," "dream therapy," "Tell me about your mother...," etc. He was, of course, a Freudian Slip. ^_^
I just *love* clever costumes. Especially when there's a pun involved.

I don't have a whole lot to add...but I did need to tell you all how hard I've been laughing reading these suggestions! My mother in law (curse curse) is having a 50th birthday party at Halloweek (her birthday is the 28th) and I wasn't going to dress up. But, now that I've read these ideas, I just have to.Thanks!

Hey, I'm used to having family obligation-type-things on Halloween. My parents were married on that day, after all. (Rather appropriate, don't you think, hmmmm?)^_^
