I've seen it noted on other RCA models that they could play CD-R or RW but I don't know if this model can. It's kind of important as I want to use it to play home movies. Any info would be appreciated

Let me clarify. I do want to know what this player can do specifically, but in general will VCD compatible DVD players play any kind of home recorded CD...or will players that list CD-R and CD-RW play video off these? Will it play off home recorded CDs and not commercial VCDs? I'm confused as to this. Thanks.

In order to read CD-R the player has to be Dual-Laser. No RCA player can read CD-R just CD-RW.
