I am 15 years old and i am an establised dj. I think that if your just starting out and haven't much expierence yet try downloading a virtual dj program off the net and screw around with that until you go and buy an expensive setup... I use cd decks instead of record decks, i find that it is a hell of a lot more easier to transport and also it's a lot easier to learn with. I use two CDJ-500II's and a DJM-500 mixer with an EFX-500 (effect sampler), all pioneer equipment it's not a bad setup except the EFX-500 is pretty limited in use.

I also have a Mixer called the DON II by intimidation. 2phono/2line non-switched (it matches correct levels for you) Also has onboard spectrum analyzer and drum match sequencer with pitch, depth and level control (absolutely sick, must be seen to be believed), and kill switches. TTX1, the new STR8's, vestax, OK granted, technics have improved with the 1210mk5G, but compare prices. best advice is to try the different makes and decide for yourself. dont be a fucking sheep. stand on yer own two feet.

I am so sick of people saying how Tech 1200s are the best. They are not the best. They were engineered some time ago, and have been surpassed by better turntables. Namely, the ones I have for sale.
