i did that Year 2000 test that was mentioned on here about 2 weeks ago. my BIOS failed. i looked at it; it appears i can not change it to taking 4 digits instead of 2. please tell me i'm missing something...

Need more info Sarah.......what said that it won't take four digits? If you have no date sensitive materials such as spreadsheets and databases perhaps you can shut it off before rollover and turn it on again in the new year.....albeit with the wrong date. Have you contacted the manufacturer to find out about BIOS compliance? What did they say?If your computer is old enough it is possible that there are no BIOS upgrades available for it. What type of computer is it....pentium, 486, 386 etc........

Sarah,Even without the junk posts, trying to diagnose this via this forum may not be practical.
You might try to locate a computer geek in your neighborhood or among your friends/relatives and see if they may help.
