1.are flashpix zip"able"?

All files are "zippable" but getting it to compress further is another issue. Some FlashPix files use jpeg compression - compressing it using zip might save you some extra bytes but I doubt if it will give significant savings, though.

I am not sure what the compression ratio will be for uncompressed FPX files.
