My problem is how to get rid of bluetone stain i4n print's edges. The edges get light blue even after short 1-2 min. toning. Normal wash doesn't help and I always use fresh bluetone. I have used selenium (raw) with brush, that takes blue of.. But I think there could be easier way?

Are you referring to a stain caused by an iron blue toner?

Are you using RC paper? If so, maybe I'm missing something, but one obvious solution would to trim the print to remove the blue that has apparently entered the exposed edge of the paper.

the citrate blue toner is pretty ghastly stuff. I dilute my toner, when mixed, 2:1 with water. This tops the print being too blue and is a bit more controllable. The print needs to be gently wiped of excess water, and pref dried flat as the colour runs. I hate blue toner but there is little alternative, any better formulae out there. Finally to answer your question.......the blue toner also stains the edges and can be removed very carefully with a slightly alkali solution of water, or best to trim of.

I assume you are finnishing the toning process with a salt bath? I have found the salt bath removes the yellow stain and blue spots. Also more agitation will prevent the stains. When using berg toners I dilute at about 1:5.
