Did your weekend turn out better than expected?

I guess mine wasn't so bad, although Jeremy is going to kill me when he finds out I didn't go to either party. I'm going to get the boring old lady lecture for sure.

How did yours turn out?

I didn't have any expectations, and the weekend isn't over yet anyway! It's been gorgeous so far though.

Ever hear that saying "Few expecations makes for a good (fill in the blank)."?

It's true. :)

Well, it's not over yet, I have a party-ette tonight, but it's been about what I expected, with the cats competing to see who could be the biggest brat.

Criffin won.

(And I have been getting the boring old lady lecture from various sources for years. Fun, isn't it?)

The weekend was good starting from the point where I knew I didn't have to work this weekend... =: ) That and I have a new focus...and that allows me 2 days free and clear to obsess on my new cause. take care, fredlet http://www.fredlet.com

Well it's all over here down under and I had a reasonable weekend. Although I'm beginning to think I'm turning into my mother. We bought a Dart Board and played darts all weekend. Well, not all weekend. But most. I'm too competitive, and this is healthy for me as I'm very bad at darts. It teaches me humility. Didn't stop me from getting the cranks, however. Oh well, keep trying. Oh yeah, we had a great BBQ too...friends, food and ...darts !!

I think I can sum this question up with simple phrases rather than telling you "yes it was good" or "no it was bad."

35 minutes in line at Sears to get new tires.
New tires that were 59 dollars more than I expected to pay.
Ran out of ice cream.
Family Breakfast at 8 am Sunday morning.

Oh wait, one thing turned out good. Got sucked into watching "Very Bad Things"....very funny.

well, let's see. i went to the baseball game here last night, which was good, but the orioles proceeded to stink AGAIN, so that's bad. the weather today was nice (good) but i had to work (bad). the guy i'm dating had brunch with my family and no one killed anyone and we all had fun so that's good. i watched sliding doors tonight, which was a good good movie, so that's good. it's after midnight, and i have to do laundry, so that's bad.

but i think i came out ahead.

Unbelievably great weekend. Much better than I expected. I went to a Six Flags Ameusement park as the "chief chaperone" to a group of teens from Italy. The person who I wanted to come with me to be my own park buddy wasn't able to go, so I was SURE that my time there was going to suck bad, and I was gearing up to mope around the park. Also, I don't like rollercoasters at all. I think they are torture devices. Anyway- I arrived at the park, all the Italian kids flew off in 20 directions, and I started walking and watching people. Lots of adults smiling, kids of many ethnicities and ages running around ... upbeat scene. Then I got on my bumper cars. My favorite. I bonded with strangers-a-plenty on those bumper cars. One little boy and I playfully argued about which one of us more fully "destroyed" the other. Another little kid wanted me to get back in line with him so we could square off for another bumper car duel. I realized I was happy to be there on my own and happy to go and choose EXACTLY what I wanted to do. I tested my chicken-woman side with every new ride, but I still didn't get on the rollercoasters. Still too much for my nerves. I had an absolute ball, and it was the best gut level, laugh out loud, loads of fun time I have had in recent memory.

my expectations for this weekend were kind of high, to say the least. a guy friend flew out from Toronto to go camping&hiking on Mt. Rainier (big dormant volcano moutain thing here in washington). i hadn't seen him in ages and although we're not a couple, we do ... engage in certain extracuricular activities when visiting eachother. needless to say those activities were quite tame, and therefore disappointing. however - the hiking was fabulous despite a few absolutely brutal moments on some switchbacks where you went up something like 1200 feet. and of course the stars and the moon were just astounding waaaaay up there and the mountain seemed close enough to touch! this is all good. the fact that i wasn't 100% prepared for the cold was kind of a downer; i was toasty until i had to pee at 3 or 4 in the morning, and then once i crawled back into my sleeping bag, i could not warm up again. so i spent about 4 hours shivering and rubbing my feet together. but the views and the drive up and all that made it worth it. of course today my ass and ankles are so sore i can't walk plus i think i lost like 3 pounds i can't afford to be without and i just want to sleeeeppp.

but i get to clean the house as my mother and brother are coming home from florida, and let's just say it's not quite up to her standards at the moment. woohoo.

It was a little worse. Pat abandoned me on Saturday and we didn't go out for breakfast either day.

On the other hand, I had a blissful half day swimming and using the sauna at my nudist camp, and got a big sewing chore done, and had a good talk with Pat that night.

I'd say I broke even.
