any big reliefs lately?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Squishy : One Thread |
Have you had a big sigh of relief lately? Did you get a weight lifted off your shoulders? As we were driving home Eric said, "I didn't think Taylor was sick. Did you?"
"Yeah, I did."
I thought for sure he would have it, since he's lived with her so long. I feel very lucky today that I have one healthy kitty and another that is very strong and wants to stay in our home.
What's making you feel lucky?

I wrecked my car over a year ago and I haven't had the money to just go out and buy a new one, so I've been living off of getting rides from people. I just got a new job this week, a nice cushy job that pays well so I'm feeling pretty good because I'm getting a new car soon. When good stuff like this happens, it gives me a really good feeling about other areas of my life. Nothing can stop my streak of luck right now, I'm in too good of a mood.

Hearing that Lilith had another good day and seems to be looking up is an awfully big relief. (=Don't mean to sound like I'm kissing ass here, but I lost a cat to leukemia - I *really* want Lilith to get better.
Other, non-cat-related reliefs: The fact that my insurance will still go through even though I was pregnant before I got my insurance. (I guess 8 weeks just isn't far enough along to worry about.)
My next big relief will be when we land a new place to live. (=

Got a huge chunk of hair cut off and now the remaining strands are a mop with blue striped curly jagged edges. It's not much, I know, but at least it's such a huge relief not having my hair yanked back by random strangers on the subway drooling over my hair. Plus I get to look like a deranged rock star on heroin.

Hello Pamie, You won't beleive it. Last night, same day as you found Taylor is healthy, my cat, siew sai was BACK after he had gone outside for almost TWO MONTHS. Before the day he went out, he had been an indoor cat, he had never played outside at all. But for a lot of unknown reasons, he SUDDENLY wanted to go outside. I waited for him in a field days and nights just wanting him to come out of the places he was hiding in, but he didn't let me get closer everytime i saw him. I "gave up" finding him after a week, because the next day I had to go for a work trip for another week no matter what, so I had no choice, I had to put it aside, although I kept thinking about him during the trip. Once I was back, I tried to find him in the field near my home, but no, I found nothing. I thought he wanted to be a stray cat. I cried and cried during the first month, I worried to death he would get sick, he would not find food, or he would find dirty food..and so on. Everytime it rained or stormed, I was worried to death that I had to go down to try to look for him,I looke like an idiot, but still I didn't find him, until last night, he showed up right in front of me when I was back from work. I was approaching to the door. I SAW HIM AGAIN!!! Well, I would like to think he saw me, he showed up in front of me, wow!! It had never happened after he went out. I guess he missed me, and he recognized me. But he ran away again at first, but he wasn't as quick as he was, he didn't have enough food that he didn't have enough energy, so I managed to follow him and then I coaxed him using the toy ball that I had left in the office for so long (isn't it so scary that i had left that ball at office for so long [probably over half year] until i decided to pick it back to my home yesterday) and then I attracted him with my plastic bag pretending I had food for him and kept talking to him, he seemed to recognize my voice, because he responded to me, I am not sure, maybe he also remembers my scent, ahh..whatever...he put his head and nose close to my hand and nuzzled it, then he didn't feel fear to get closer, and of course, I would not let him go, so I caught him..ahhh.I can't believe it. I have him back after almost two months. I really thought some people might have adapted him during the time I went for the trip. This morning I got him to see the vet, and the vet said he was VERY lucky that he is fine after he had gone outside without care for almost 2 months, only there is infection in his ears, but eveyrthing is okay and dandy. He gave him a vaccine, and Frontline for his flee problem, but actually he has got no flee after I spent over an hour to give him a bath last night. He didn't like it though, and scratched me so bad I even bleeded. But he is so happy right now, he eats alot and plays. The only bad thing is my two other cats, both Sai Sai and Mi Mi don't seem to welcome him. Sai Sai even purked so bad after he was back......anyway, anyway....I have been so upbeat and gushing about it. I JUST FEEL EXTREMELY LUCKY. kwn

Oh God, you just don't know how lucky I feel when I'm finished with my three month cancer check-up! Another 3 months under my belt, and another 2 before I start to worry again....

ok...i am such a heel for writing this underneath an entry where someone(thank god) is giving thanks for beating cancer....big cheer for you!!our big relief is that our flatulent, stinky, cantankerous, horrible old cocker spaniel, Maggie, has pulled through knee surgery, and is finally starting to walk on her leg again, after having the broken ligaments stapled back together, and her kneecap repaired. It was ugly, and has taken weeks to heal, but now the vet says it looks good, and she is fine, and back to her old biting self again.

oh pamie that is SO cool! i'm so glad to hear about lilith and taylor! go kitties!about two months ago, my purrpurr ripped her leg open and had to get stitches and antibiotics and i was just a freak! before this, she'd never been sick or hurt at all. well, on thursday night i picked her up and felt and HUGE lump on her right leg! and of course, i started to lose it thinking she's growing a tumour or maybe there's some freaky parasite under her skin (i work at on a website that does pest control and a few weeks ago someone sent a disgusting email about these parasites that squirrels get that grow under their with the butts hanging out and i was so worried that's what nico had).
and this is silly but i was so afraid she had a tumour that when it turned out to be a pus filled swelling from a puncture wound i was actually relieved!!! SO relieved! so now she's got a drain in her leg, a nice icky open wound, she's not allowed outside and oooooo is she cranky, but still, it's not a tumour! yay!
(note: i still feel like a terrible muma here)
and for the lady with cancer - i'm right there with ya baby! i'm on my 2nd year right now - i get tested every three months too and i'm due. just stay positive and keep smiling and enjoy every breath - you'll be fine :)

No big reliefs -- I just want to congratulate Taylor and say how happy I am that Lilith is feeling better. You have the kitties of steel! Billy Blanks would be so proud of them.

Well, it was a big relief to get our flat finally bought without the price quarupling during the process (the London property market is very seller-friendly at the moment).Towards the end of the process Tristan was asked to have an HIV test for the life assurance (of course, only he needed one, what with him being the big breadwinner man and everything. It obviously would make no difference to our mortgage repayments if I snuffed it tomorrow, despite the fact that I earn more than him. You've not known a patriarchial system until you'll lived in England) and we got the big negative result back. At first we didn't give this a second thought, but I've not had one of these before, so we got to thinking - imagine if it had been positive. I don't think our ability to repay the mortgage would have been the first thing on our minds.
