Meaning of "doula" word?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Doula.Com General Discussion : One Thread |
Is the word Doula an acronym (D.O.U.L.A.)? If so, what does it stand for? If it is not an acronym, is it a foreign word that means "support" or "with woman", something like that? This may seem like a really silly question. I appreciate your help. The word is not in any of my dictionaries or in the encyclopedia.
