To the people of the world,

I would like to know why a video cd won't work on a normal computer? All I know is that it will work when a computer has a DVD-rom. So I what some hints and tips on how to play Singapore VCD's.

More technical info from you might help in letting other VCD experts here help in solve your problem. Lone Ranger here is usually very helpful, but don't get him mad :-)

Start with your PC settings, hardware configurations, MPEG software etc. etc. or refer to how other posters phrase their questions.

The vcd won't work on an IBM that runs os program WIN NT, because I have lowing access privleges and two, the computer can't read the disc. It won't work on an iMAC because will take a while and the computer will say that it is the wrong format.But these are all school computers. I ran a vcd from HK on the iMAC and it worked. Why then when I play a vcd from singapore, the computer won't recognise it.

your answers: Windows NT does not fully support Video CD and will reject or crash it(some discs work but others crash) and second the school PCs were designed not to play but work. USE THEM AT HOME NOT AT SCHOOL AND ON YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT. IF YOU HAVE FREE TIME TO VIEW THEM DO SO ON A COMPUTER YOU OWN. USING THE SCHOOL COMPUTER TO PLAY A VIDEO GAME OR VIDEO CD CAN GET YOU IN LEGAL AND ACADEMIC TROUBLE. Sorry to shout but it helps iterate the point to others who will be reading this post.

For COL, LR he's just a young un, besides he may just be trying to watch a documentary recommended by the school on a VCD :-)
