Where I work, the cash register - (royal ####) takes the year as only a 2 digit date. DOes this mean that it has a Y2K problem.

The same goes for the photo printer (noritsu 1001). a two digit date Anyone else out therehave any knowledge of these and Y2K??

Heres my secret 5 second Y2k test for two digit years - Enter the date 02/29/00. If the device/software accepts the date, you should be good to go (of course for important devices you need to enter all the test dates). The reason is, if the device/software thinks 00 is 1900, it likely won't take the 02/29/00 date since there WAS no leap year in 1900. If it takes the date, then it should be ok. Again, you may want to test other dates such as 12/31/00.

The best thing to do though is to check with the manufacturer, you can do a search on the net, many companies post their y2k compliance info here. Regards,
