PBS just showed an hour long documentary on 3 Mile Island! Why now? Are they preparing us for a possible SHUTDOWN OF NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS?greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
Today June 22, 1999 an hour long special documentary on the 3 Mile Island "MELTDOWN" was shown on PBS.Why now?
I think they are getting Americans mentally ready for a shutdown. People in the Eastern part of the country will scream bloody murder when the shut down occurs several months before Y2K!
However, if they have been conditioned with programs like this, they hope the protests will be minimal.

Some of us might not mind a shutdown, if we or loved ones live downwind of the plant. My parents live about 15 miles downwind of such a facility... But then, I live in an area which is not dependent upon nuclear power.

freddie,PBS ran same program in March for 20th anniversary. Merely a rebroadcast.

Yes! Freddie's RIGHT!I remember seeing the miniseries "Holocaust" rebroadcast a few years back....they're trying to get us mentally tenderized for interment in the death camps. Only logical conclusion.
TBS used to broadcast "The Flintstones" every afternoon...must have been an effort to get us used to the idea of living in Neanderthal conditions. How ingenious of them....this conspiracy has been underway since the mid-60's....as if they could fool us by starting it up that long ago! Hah hah...we aren't that gullible.

More truthful representations of Doomers were given by the ever-popular LOST IN SPACE.

You know, sometimes I wonder if some of you people ever bother to look both ways when crossing the street, just figuring that since it was clear yesterday it'll still be clear today. The fact is, ever since the conflict in Kosovo started they have been running a load of Hitler/Nazi programs all over the networks. TLC, Discovery, the History Channel and PBS. It's goes to show you what the power of the tee vee has over people. It's easy to get behind blowing up the Balkans when you think there is another Hitler over there. It gives people solidity in their support of the USA.
And yes, recently there have been many more programs on Nuclear Bombs (Trinity and Beyond) that have been rebroadcast with alarming regularity, making me wonder just what they want us to be ready for now. I just saw on TLC last night about the world's worst Industrial disasters, follwed by a short peice in the development of the nuclear bomb, and then an hour later on a local cable channel they ran a segment on the use of the atomic bomb to end WWII.
When you think about it, the power of the tee vee is probably the single most driving force in the American household. It's our contact with the rest of the world. If there wasn't anything to be worried about, then why don't they run programs about Windows 2000, or E-Commerce, or how wonderful we'll feel after 1/1/00. But no, almost every night I can skim through th satelite channels and see at least one mushroom cloud.
Yeah, the tee vee is a powerful tool. Why else do they charge a millions dollars for thirty seconds of commercial during the SuperBowl. It's because everyone knows how much tee vee influences the common person in the world and more especially our country, where the average household has two tee vees.
Oh, and by the way, don't forget to look both ways this time.

Have noticed that when we get to close to the nitty-gritty the schizo's show up immediately. This indicator lets me know when the truth is in the wind
