What do I need to set up a basic B&W darkroom in my home. I am new to B&W photography and would like to be able to develop my own photos.

Search the archives on this site. I wrote a series of articles on choosing and setting up and black-and-white darkroom. Look for "Brilliant Mistakes."Also check out Andy's Photo Darkroom site at http://www.open.org/hughesa/darkroom/index.htm.

Your question covers a lot of ground. A visit to your nearest local public library should get you started.

I am in the process of building a darkroom at home. I began my search for used equipment at the local college. I asked the instructors and within a couple weeks had the phone numbers of people selling several pieces including my darkroom sink, trays, books, etc. I have saved several hundred dollars that way. Good lUck!
