Dodd said he talked with NATO representatives about Y2K while he was attending a briefing on the ongoing fighting in Kosovo.

The Commerce Department's new plan is an ambitious combination of videotaped presentations, international conferences and the release of the "Y2K Self Help Tool," a CD-ROM published in eight languages (English, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish) for more than 100 countries.

The program is designed to help international businesses cope with the Year 2000 problem's effects on the entire supply chain of global trade. Right now, they're spending the "Social Security" surplus that creative bookeeping has created for the upcoming election cycle.

It's nice to know they're going to dig deep in all of OUR pockets to pay for the Y2K crisis. That way they won't blame the U.S. for it. I see how this works now.
