Free BIOS test & fix: http://www.symantec.com/sabu/n2000r/index.html Sounds too good to be true. Is there a catch?

Is there something I should know before using this?

From the site:

Test and fix system hardware

The BIOS test is a floppy disk, date-safe test of the Real-Time Clock (RTC) and Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) of a system.

It's date safe because it doesn't access the hard drive and doesn't endanger date-sensitive software or software licenses.

The BIOS fix installs a device driver that monitors the RTC and BIOS date functions. The driver will automatically correct an erroneous century rollover.

A convenient Windows-based System Date test checks the operating system's date handling characteristics.

There are several of these TSR programs that fix the rollover problem on older BIOSes, and seem to do an OK job. You should at least run the test to see what shape your BIOS is in. I haven't used Norton's but several others are also available. Keep in mind that this DOES NOT fix any non-compliant software you're running. <:)=

Kay - post a URL for that site please, for others who might like to go to the one you are referring to.
