Hi,I'm thinking of doing slides to print myself but have difficulty getting the printing papers. Any lobang ??? Understand that Ruby is still selling the Ilfochrome chemicals. Guess it will be much cheaper to do it myself. Checked that Litewand is charging $15 for a 5X7 Ilfochrome print.

I've tried printing myself and it was a disaster as I was never trained in color printing before.
A good print requires you to have some good skills. And color printing is not easy and takes up lots of your time. I think this is the reason why many don't do color printing themselves at all. Paper and chemicals for Ilfordchrome aren't cheap too!
So if you doing just a few prints, then I think it will be cheaper and better for you to let a professional lab to do it for you.
This is not to discourage you but just some thoughts.

I am in the same boat, most of my photographic work is on slides. I am from the UK and have lived in Singapore for one year. There are several UK companies will to ship Ilfochrome to Singapore, Silverprint, Jessops, and a few others; all VAT free, just add 3% GST this end. Go to the Nova webpage click on UK retailers and follow the link to the retailers site. Fujichrome paper is available in Singapore, at a very reasonable price. Cost of 330 sheets, 10X8, but you will need to cut these sheets from a 8" roll. One of 8” roll is $ 360 +3% GST. If you need to purchase, please call Jenny Tan at 3805362.Fujichrome will give as good results as Ilfochrome, although there is the added inconvienience of having to expose the paper to light between the first dev and colour dev stages. Like the old E4 slide process. But there is a hell of a difference in price between the two processes. Chemistry, I need to get some locally finding R3 / R30 chemistry is like finding "hens teeth". Although several companies from the Uk will ship to Singapore. Just ensure they enclose the MSDS sheets. Hope this helps. Drop me an e-mail is you find a good source of R3 / R30 chemistry. Regards, Barry

You can buy Ilfordcrome (both chemicals and papers) in Ruby Photo. Beside taht you can also get both from Adorama, B&H and possibly others. As far as the processing is concerned, I have got my pictures processed in Czech Republic for money nobody can compete with :-). 50 x 60 cm cost abour 65 S$, 30 x 40 around 20. The difference between Iflordcrome (Cibachrome) and Fujichrome is color saturation and color stability. Ciba is better in both factors.
