Sysman: Yep, I can see consumers overstocking on items such as TP, canned goods, personal care items, anything and everything one would think would be in short supply. By the looks of things, I won't be hitting the stores for anything for a very long time. Multiply that by millions of "hoarders," and we have a self-proclaimed prophecy....a depression. Our money is now fueling the economy, business is brisk for hundreds of businesses that cater to our frenzy, Sams Club, Costco, gold coin dealers, water filter companies, etc. I can see massive layoffs in these sectors and in the manufacturing of certain goods, such as paper mills, chemical companies, etc. Maybe now is a good time to apply for credit cards galore...one never knows if we will have to use them to live on inbetween jobs....after all millions have cashed in IRAs, took money out of their savings to finance their stash, and who knows who will be holding the bag? It's like the merchant who is overstocked, he can hold a sale and try to get rid of it, but since we aren't in the buisness of being a grocery store, hardware store, etc., I would say to you all "GOT SPAM?"

While this is "only" a Yahoo story, it's interesting that us hoarder wackos are actually being considered to have an impact. It's just one more log on the fire. I didn't think the media volume would be going up this soon, but I guess I'm glad it is. Hang on, it's going to be a fun ride! <:)=
