Does anyone know the current status of Niagara Mohawk (utility for upstate NY) & their Y2k preparation? I've seen their website, but who knows the REAL story. I heard a story that their CEO has a place out in the country with a backup generator, just in case.

Today it says: QUICK FACTS As of January 29, 1999, percent completion for Priorities 1 & 2 Inventory Phase: 100% Assessment Phase: 100% Remediation Phase: 64% Testing Phase: 55% Validation Phase: 55% Accept & Deploy Phase: 50%

As you probably know, they are in the process of selling many (all?) their production facilities, so I am not sure whether these figures apply to distribution only, or just what. You'd have to dig around the web site to read the fine print.
