Has anyone tried Arista Papergreenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Printing & Finishing : One Thread |
I have not tried Arista Paper from Freestyle sales Co for many years. Can someone give a report how their current paper is?

Yes, I use it as my standard glossy paper. No problems with the RC VC Plus brand. Mike

I have used the Arista RC paper all year in my Photography classes (I teach Photography at a Magnet High School), since it is cheaper than Ilford or Kodak. But I have found that the contrast is not as good as either of the other papers that I have used in the past. After I finish this last box, I will not buy any more.

I agree with Cathy B. I tried ONE box for some work at school and found it lacking in the contrast department. (I'm not sure I EVER got good blacks.)

I've been using the RC version for quick prints for many years, and also the FB version for final prints. I like it a lot. Rumor is that it's made by Ilford - or maybe that it's Kentmere - depending on which rumor you want to believe.I don't find the contrast to be a problem at all - but then I am pretty careful about film testing and processing so that my negatives are pretty consistent.

The rumors are true; Arista paper are Ilford seconds.
