DC210 Plus Soft at a distancegreenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread |
I have a Kodak 210Plus which does a great job on pictures less then about 20 feet. Seems like when I exceed this limit the picture starts to blur. Is this common with most lower end digital cameras? Are there any cameras in the $500 to $600 range that do a good job on both close and distance shots. Everything else about the camera I like.. Thanks.

This sort of thing is not uncommon on fixed-focus cameras, which category the DC210 falls into. The '210 has a zoom lens, but no autofocus, and indeed, is slightly soft at infinity. In checking the datasheets on our site, look for autofocus cameras, which should focus well at all distances within their range. (We now routinely shoot a picture at infinity to smoke-out this sort of problem, so you'll find samples of this sort in all our more recent camera rev
